In this day and age, Children are faced with so many pressures which start at an early age. Through the Children’s Ministry, we hope to impart to them the knowledge of God’s saving Grace. It is through this Grace, Children learn the skills to help them grow as strong, emotionally and spiritually healthy adults.
All of the Children remain in the Sanctuary on Sundays for worship so that families can actively worship together. Many parents have commented that through out the week, their child would be singing the worship songs sung that preceding Sunday! During Worship, the Children and teachers are asked to come to the Altar where a memory verse is rehearsed and where the entire church prays over the Children. We believe strongly that the Children are the “Noise of today…Church of tomorrow.” After the Worship and Offering, the Children are dismissed to their own service – Children’s Church.
For the youngest ages (3-5) the classes will typically involve arts and crafts with 1 main message tailored to suit the understanding of a young mind.
As the Children grow, they are placed with an older group (ages 6- 9) where the basic Bible parables and stories are presented in a way that keeps their young minds interested and entertained.
With the final age group (10-12), we find that lessons which directly address their real life experiences give them the best illustration of how Christian principals apply to everyday life.
One of the most exciting things to realize is that many of our current volunteers and ministers grew up under our Children’s Ministry! We expect this to continue with every generation!
